The Town of Zebulon remains committed to transparency, integrity, and service to our community with the highest standards of accountability. Our town is open for business, and we have an interim town manager in place. As we go through this leadership transition, we will continue to provide quality, on-time services to the Town of Zebulon. In the coming weeks, we invite and encourage community members to participate in the budget process and provide feedback. Town of Zebulon is working with our interim town manager and committed to filling key critical positions. We are excited to welcome back Matt Lower as our Planning Director. Matt originally joined the Town of Zebulon in October 2024 following a national search. He has past experience at all levels of government, including local, state, federal and Tribal governments, as well as public and private sector roles. As Planning Director, he oversees the Zebulon Planning Department, managing the planning, infrastructure and development of the Town. We appreciate his contributions to our community and the Town of Zebulon.

Public Notice: Temporary Closure of 100 Block of N. Arendell Avenue Please be aware that the 100 Block of N. Arendell Avenue is currently closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic due to an unsafe building condition. The contractor for the project will be working through the night (April 25-26) to address the issue and stabilize the structure. The Town of Zebulon is actively coordinating with partner agencies to ensure the safety of the public. We appreciate your patience and will provide updates as the situation progresses.

Public Notice: Reopening of 100 Block of N. Arendell Avenue The structural issue that required the closure of the 100 block of N. Arendell Avenue has been resolved. We would like to extend our thanks: -To all of our partner agencies for their quick response and support. -To our residents and downtown businesses for their patience and understanding during the closure. The 100 block of N. Arendell Avenue is now fully open to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

As we move forward with developing the Town of Zebulon’s budget, we would like to hear from you! We are working quickly and carefully to finalize a budget that reflects our community’s needs and priorities, and your input is critical to making sure we address what matters most. Thank you to everyone who attended tonight's Town Hall. We planned to stream the meeting; however, we did experience an internet outage that prevented the livestreaming from occurring. The session was recorded and will be available to watch tomorrow morning. Over the course of the evening, we answered approximately 36 questions and will continue posting responses to any unanswered questions on our website. The Town of Zebulon is pleased to announce the return of two additional staff members. Ms. Lisa Markland is resuming her position as a part-time Town Clerk. Over the next two months (through June 30), she will be working closely on the Town agenda, especially as we work through FY25-26 budget presentations, address outstanding meeting minutes, and interview candidates for Town Manager and Town Clerk. Ms. Markland will be working strictly on Clerk-Board matters. Ms. Stacie Paratore also resumed work last week on a part-time basis at the Town’s HR Specialist. Over the next several weeks, we will be interviewing for a new Human Resources Director.

On April 28, 2025, Zebulon held a Town Hall Meeting with the Town. Mayor Glenn York, Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Harrison, and Interim Town Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba led an evening focused on transparency, connection, and dialogue. This event marked another step forward in strengthening communication and transparency with our community.
