Public Works maintains the town's recycling facility where we store the yardwaste and leaves collected during the year. Several times a year, the yardwaste and leaves are ground into mulch which is offered free to town residents. Check the Public Works Facebook page and the website for postings when mulch is available. Residents can pick up the mulch or arrange delivery from the Public Works Department. Delivery will be on a first come, first serve basis as quantities are limited. We can dump the mulch only on the right-of-way next to the curb. No one has to be home to accept the delivery.
A mulch waiver must be submitted before delivery can be completed. A waiver may be obtained at Town Hall (1003 North Arendell Avenue) or at Public Works (450 East Horton Street). The signed waiver can be submitted via fax at 919-269-2617 or by email to jcorbett@townofzebulon.org.
