Economic Development Policy

The Town of Zebulon is located in the eastern corner of Wake County where the Counties of Wake, Franklin, Nash, Johnston, and Wilson (nearby) all intersect to make it the “Crossroads of the Counties”.  Our charming, small town is conveniently located between I-40/I-440 and I-95 with access to each via US-64/US-264 (Future I-495).  Zebulon is booming with residential development that accompanies a well-developed, yet ever-growing industrial economy.  Both large companies, such as GlaxoSmithKline, Nomacorc, Nomaco, and US Foods, and smaller, “home town” businesses like Whitley Furniture Galleries are proud to call Zebulon their home.  The Town of Zebulon is also the long-time home of the Carolina Mudcats, who are currently the Atlanta Braves’ Class A-Advanced minor league baseball affiliate team.  The 2015 season marks the Town of Zebulon as the home of the Carolina Mudcats for 25 years!

There are 19 recognized subdivisions within the Town of Zebulon’s jurisdiction with a total of 2,277 approved lots.  Of these 19 subdivisions, five (Braemar, Taryn Meadows, Shepards Point, Weaver’s Pond, and Shepards Park) are still being developed and provide many open lots available for building new homes.  Outside of the subdivisions, there are plenty of houses to choose from in town or outside the corporate limits, which will provide rural scenery.

The completion of the Triangle East Business Park (formerly the Zebulon Industrial Park) is now underway.  With eight lots to be developed, the Business Park will be equipped to welcome both commercial and industrial businesses.  The newest addition is a 20,000 square foot flex building (Lot 2), which offers the opportunity to subdivide.  A 72,000 square foot warehouse (Lot 8) is the next proposed improvement.  Tenants of the Triangle East Business Park currently include Nomaco, Nomacorc (featured in Season 23 of Science's "How It's Made" television show), and KAM Tools and Die as well as a satellite facility for Wake Technical Community College.

With easy access to a great road system, a low cost of living for citizens, and competitive incentive policies for industrial businesses, The Town of Zebulon hopes that many new friendly faces will join us in our small town with big aspirations.
