This morning, the Town of Zebulon Board of Commissioners voted to appoint Catherine “Katy” Crosby as the next Town Manager, effective February 16, 2026. Crosby comes to Zebulon from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), where she served as Chief of Community Engagement & Institutional Accountability. The Town of Zebulon has announced the recipients of its first Non-Profit Mini-Grant Program, awarding $20,000 to organizations whose work supports Vision 2030 and enhances services for residents. The inaugural grant cycle provided two $5,000 grants and five $2,000 grants. Applications were evaluated through a blind-review scoring process completed by a 3-member committee appointed by the Board of Commissioners, with final approval by the Board. The first-ever grant recipients are: $5,000 awardees • Boys & Girls Club • Zebulon United Methodist Church $2,000 awardees • Knightdale-Wake Forest Education • Zebulon Aggies Football and Cheer • Operation Restoration Inc. • URBIVOR • Zebulon Downtown Arts Council The grant recipients were honored during the Town’s Candy Cane Lane celebration on Saturday, Nov. 22,. The Mini-Grant Program provides financial support to non-profit agencies that directly benefit Zebulon residents and advance community priorities, including youth services, education, family health, transportation and engagement with traditionally underserved populations. Funded organizations must submit quarterly progress and financial reports demonstrating project impact. The 2026 grant cycle will open soon, with application details to be announced on the Town’s website and social media platforms.

Attention Zebulon Residents!! Wake County EMS is updating how they respond to 911 calls starting in 2026. One key change is that lights and sirens will only be used when medically necessary. This reduces accidents, protects responders and the public, and still ensures patients receive the right care at the right time. The new plan also ensures the most appropriate resource is dispatched first. Depending on the situation, the response may include EMS, fire, a nurse call-line or another responder. The Town of Zebulon is excited to share an update from the Coastal Plain League regarding the “Name Your Team” contest for the new team that will call Five County Stadium home. After receiving nearly 3,000 submissions and more than 900 unique name ideas, the top five finalists have been announced. The finalists are Bushrangers, Croc Hunters, Devil Dogs, Iron Horses and Thunder Roos. Fans can vote for their favorite name now through the end of day on December 1 at coastalplain.com/ZebulonTop5.

The Town of Zebulon is excited to welcome Jeremy Crawford, MBA, HROD, as our new Town Clerk. A native of Red Oak, Jeremy brings more than 20 years of experience in municipal administration, federal service, organizational leadership, and public safety. He most recently served as Town Clerk in Ayden and previously held clerk, finance, and HR roles in Bailey. Jeremy holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in marketing and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with over two decades of service. As Town Clerk, he will manage official records, support the Board of Commissioners, oversee public notifications, and ensure compliance with state laws. Jeremy started with the Town of Zebulon on Monday, November 24, 2025. Please join us in welcoming him!
