Greetings and thank you for taking interest in the Zebulon Police Department. I am excited and honored to serve the Town of Zebulon as Police Chief.
In more than 28 years of policing, I have seen and experienced changes in expectations from community in the way police services are delivered. I consider the law enforcement profession to be a noble choice for those who feel the calling. We seek officers with a genuine servant’s heart to serve the Town and believe that friendly, neighborly interactions build positive and cooperative relationships. This makes the enforcement piece of our jobs easier and more effective.
200 years ago, Sir Robert Peel, the father of modern day policing, proclaimed that the “Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.”
This statement embodies one of my pillar beliefs about the law enforcement profession- we are entrusted by our community to represent them in carrying out public safety. That means, we must hold ourselves accountable to the people who live and work in Zebulon.
Our mission is to Enhance Community Engagements, While Keeping Zebulon Safe. We do this by being responsible to our core values of Integrity, Service, and Professionalism.
As your chief, you can expect from me and our staff efforts that are always mission driven, have steadfast allegiance to our values, honor our oath of office, are truthful in all we say and do, and give our best effort each day.
I look forward to the development and progress that our community is certain to experience in the coming years. As an agency committed to professional best practices, intelligence-led policing, and leadership development, we are geared to meet the challenges of our town of friendly people.
I hope you will take a few minutes to review some of the resources we have available to our community. As always, we seek your input and comment. Should you have questions, comments, or recommendations, we will look forward to hearing from you.
