Full Time - We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to serve as the Town Clerk. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Political Science, Communication, English, or a related field from an accredited college or university, along with at least three years of experience in municipal administration or
office management.
Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of municipal proceedings, managing official documents, and ensuring compliance with state and local statutes. The Town Clerk will work closely with the Board Members, Town Staff, and the public, providing administrative support and ensuring the smooth operation of municipal functions.
Hiring Range: $59,000 -90,250

Full-Time - The Town Manager will be a proven and trustworthy leader with both a commitment to equitably serving all residents of a growing and diverse community and an openness to supporting the current vision of the Board of Commissioners. The Town Manager will also be a visionary leader with the foresight to keep the long-term health of the Town in mind and plan accordingly.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in public administration, public policy, or related field and 10 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in municipal management with at least 6 years at the level of Department head or higher. Experience as a Deputy or Assistant City or Town Manager is preferred. Though not required, the selected candidate will ideally reside within the Town of Zebulon.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, experience, and traits:
- Ability to build consensus across Town staff, the Board of Commissioners, and town residents
- Ability to build rapport with residents and understand their needs
- Responsiveness to the needs of the Board of Commissioners and other stakeholders
- Familiarity with North Carolina Department of Transportation projects
- Experience in a fast-growing community
- Experience with human resources processes
- Ability to make and defend their decisions/positions, engendering confidence across groups
- Experience with grant writing is desirable

Part-Time - The Town of Zebulon is seeking an energetic and creative person that wants to serve this community in an administrative role. The part-time Recreation Aide is the first point of contact at the Community Center, and therefore would need to possess amazing customer service skills. This position is an important part of the team that keeps things moving forward within the Parks Department. They will work on various projects, do research, participate in programs and have fun. The Parks & Recreation Department values the input and ideas from their employees and wants to help them grow in their careers. Recreation Aides assist Parks and Recreation staff with daily operations of the Zebulon Community Center, community outreach programs, athletic programs, special events and overseeing facility rentals. Recreation Aides are responsible for providing outstanding customer service when assisting the public using various communication methods. Staff will need to be familiar with the facility, various sports and standard operating procedures.
Hourly Rate: $15.00
