Crime Prevention

Medicine Drop Box

The Zebulon Police Department received a grant from CVS Pharmacy to install a permanent Medicine Drop Box. The Drop Box is located at the Zebulon Police Department at 1001 N. Arendell Avenue Zebulon, NC 27597 and provides residents with a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired medication, including controlled substances. The  site is open to the public Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM; and drugs can be dropped off with no questions asked.

The Drop Box is intended to reduce the amount of unneeded medicine in residents' homes and decrease prescription drug abuse. It further helps Zebulon Police Department  prevent the contamination of local landfills and water supplies from unused medication.

The Zebulon  Police Department has hosted several Medicine Drop events over the years with great success. Having a permanent, safe place to dispose of excess and unwanted prescription medications is a very positive step to protecting our citizens and environment. The Zebulon Police Department is proud to partner with CVS Pharmacy and we thank them for their commitment to help residents reduce the amount of unneeded medicine in our community. For more information or to inquire about the type of medications included in this program, please contact Detective Hamm by calling (919) 823-1818 or by email: chamm@townofzebulon.org.
